Cobus is a Chartered Accountant with 13 years of expertise in the offshore financial services sector. He has built a strong background in investment funds, holding pivotal roles at two of the world’s largest investment banks as well as a Big 4 audit firm. Notably, Cobus spearheaded the launch and development of the fintech corporate services practice at a leading law firm in the Cayman Islands, where he was instrumental in establishing the firm's fiduciary arm and strengthening governance frameworks for fintech foundation companies.
He has served as an independent director for various asset finance and structured finance special purpose vehicles, as well as proprietary trading entities, with a particular emphasis on cryptocurrency trading. He is also the chairman of a regional crypto and blockchain networking organization that brings together industry leaders and enthusiasts.
